Final Days in Buenos Aires

For the last few days that I was in Buenos Aires I decided to wander around the streets of Puerto Madero, Palermo and Recoletta neighbourhoods.
Puerto Madero is the newest area in Buenos Aires and they have changed some old wharf buildings into a mix of commercial spaces (bars and restaurants) and residential buildings. Much like the woolstore buildings in Brisbane. Across the docks from these buildings they have developed a whole neighbourhood of highrise apartment buildings surrounded by lot´s of parks and beautiful tree lined streets. The apartments in this area are very expensive to buy and to rent, but they would have spectacular views over the river plata and the whole of Buenos Aires. It really felt like I could have been just about anywhere in the world though as it was all very new and very clean, just like singapore actually.....
In Palermo I went to the museums. They have a new Modern art museum and the other museum contains work by some of the most famous artists from the last 300 years and alot of art by south amreican artists as well. he big museum was the later and it had works of art by Cessane, Picasso, Renoir, Rembrandt, Degas, Frida Khalo, Gaugain and quite a few other famous European artists. Most of these art works were donated to the museum during the 1930´s and 1940´s and now are worth in the 10´s of millions each. It was quite an amazing collection.
So after visiting all the museums, parks, the cemetary and all the neighbourhoods that I wanted to see it was time to say good bye to Buenos Aires and move on to the next city, Montevideo.
